Historic Rock Island Depot built around 1903

The historic Rock Island Depot was built around 1903 by Choctaw, Oklahoma & Western railroads.  By about 1905 it was operated by the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad.  After the railroad was closed to this location, it was later operated as the Eaton Feed & Seed Company.  They constructed a wood frame grain elevator to the north of the building.  The Eaton Company eventually went out of business and the building has since been vacant for approximately 25+ years.

The downstairs area measures 3,420 sf and the upstairs apartment is 1932 sf.  The north end of the building exhibits 20’ clearance with the original beams and plank flooring.  All brick walls and three dock doors.  The south end is a large expanse with 8’ high ceiling and a two bedroom apartment above.  There is also a loft area overlooking the north end.

Partially remodeled by seller with a roof installed in 1999, plumbing installed 2001, gas line in 2001, structural reinforcement of floor & joists in south part of building.
